[40]  The history of condoms is said to be traced to ancient societies, and engraved for posterity on caves’ walls. But the word ‘Condom’ first appeared in 1665.

Invented by two men: Dr. Conton, (a physician,) and Colonel Condum, (a soldier under King Charles II.)

Before they came with their improved version, contraceptives were made of sheep intestines. Conton-Condum’s device was made from dried lamb intestines and was oiled to make it flexible. And when needed, it was also oiled for easier penetration.

A rare, well-used sample.

Do you think people should not be allowed to practice birth control of any kind?

Xaviera Hollander

("The Happy Hooker" and dozen more books):

We've been friends  for almost half a century and enjoyed several of each others' theatrical productions, so reading your memoir of Mrs. Gulliver is a wonderful surprise: so witty, subversive, and yet, arousing... it tickled my mind as well as inspired my G-spot. Highly recommended!
