The history of condoms is said to be traced to ancient societies, and engraved for posterity on caves’ walls. But the word ‘Condom’ first appeared in 1665.
Invented by two men: Dr. Conton, (a physician,) and Colonel Condum, (a soldier under King Charles II.)
Before they came with their improved version, contraceptives were made of sheep intestines. Conton-Condum’s device was made from dried lamb intestines and was oiled to make it flexible. And when needed, it was also oiled for easier penetration.
